Google ads are a great way to grow your online visibility

You’re running your first ad on Google Ads, but you’re not sure where to start. Are you confused by the different objectives Google gave to you? Google ad campaign objectives can be something confusing. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Digital advertising might be complicated, time-consuming, and even expensive if you’re not sure what you’re doing. However, you’re off to a great start if you know your objectives, target market, and the platform you want to run your ads.

Google Adwords can be an excellent way to reach your ideal audience and increase your online visibility. Once you create a targeted ad, you need to monitor and optimize your campaigns so that you don’t end up spending amounts that you never hoped to.

The Basics of Creating a Digital Ad Campaign

No matter which kind of ad you run (a Google ad or a social media ad on Facebook, LinkedIn etc.), you should always create a Campaign first. After creating the campaign, you’ll then need to create an Ad Group and the Ads. This is typically the same on all digital advertising platforms.

Campaign Objectives on Google Ads

Whenever you create a search or display ad campaign on Google Ads, you will first need to select your campaign objectives. Below are the types of campaign objectives you can choose from:

Sales: You can use this option for online, in-store, app or by-phone sales. Once selected, you can run a search, display, shopping, video, smart and discovery ads.

Leads: Are you primarily trying to gather leads? Use this objective if you’re looking to collect the email addresses and contact details of your audience.

Website Traffic: If you are attempting to increase traffic to your website or marketing landing pages, you should select this option. By doing so, you can attract customers who are more likely to purchase from you.

Product or Brand consideration: This option is similar to the website traffic option, only with this option you can choose the video ad campaign type. These video ads could be skippable in-stream ads, non-skippable in-stream ads, bumper ads, or a mix.

Brand Awareness and Reach: Choose this campaign objective if you wish to increase the visibility of your brand. This type of campaign will help you reach a wider audience and build brand recognition.

App Promotion: If you have a mobile app, this campaign objective may be the best option for you. With these ads, you can enhance app downloads, engagement, or app pre-registration (for Android only)

Local Store Visits and Promotions: You can use this campaign type to drive foot traffic to your local store, whether it’s a restaurant or a dealership.

It is also possible to create a campaign without a goal’s guidance, however, it is always better to pick a campaign objective to make the best of your efforts on Google Ads.

The rest is straightforward once you have chosen your campaign objectives; the system will walk you through the steps you need to fill in. It is important to make sure you choose your target market, create appealing imagery, and videos, and use searchable keywords.
